Staying Safe with Road ID!

I received a Road ID as part of being a BibRavePro (ambasaador).  Check out BibRave.com to read and write race reviews.

Staying safe during a run is a full time job. There are so many facets, from headlamps during early morning runs to hydration belts or vests to prevent dehydration. We get the proper gear and the proper clothing, we run in groups, we vary our routes, we avoid dehydration and heat exhaustion. We plan our runs meticulously, making sure to get enough miles but not too many. We cross train and we stretch.
But, what if?
What if we pass out for no reason? What if we have a heart attack? What if, despite our preparation, someone isn't paying attention and we get hit by a car? We don't even have to be alone. I can guarantee that most of the peeps I run with don't know my husband's number and I am also fairly sure that they don't know I'm allergic to penicillin. Honestly, we talk about poop a lot on our runs, but not so much about our allergies.

I have a TON of Road IDs. Ok, maybe only 5, all the slim silicone stretch bands, and it is so easy to forget to put them on for a run. Even though they are super cute in a multitude of colors. They all have the cute little badges on them as well. I love them all, and they all have the hubs' info on them, as well as my allergy info. I just have to remember to wear them.

Enter the Sidekick ID for Garmin and Fitbit. Y'all, this was a game changer for me! I wear my watch all.day.long. It is my step counter, my running watch, my timepiece. And now it is my savior if something goes wrong. And not just for my runs. For everything.

Each Sidekick can be personalized with 6 lines, so you can probably even add some inspiration. Mine says Believe and Try Everything! It also comes with 2 easy to use straps that attach it to your watch. I used the spare to attach a couple fun badges.

Like I said, I wear it all the time. If I had passed out from the heat at that crazy outdoor wedding we went to at the end of July, and the hubs wasn't around, I would be good to go.

Everyone who exercises should have one of these, especially if you have a medical condition or an allergy. Don't leave it to chance, it's such a little thing that makes such a monumental difference!

Head over to Road ID using this link and get 20% off of your next purchase! They even have Pet IDs!

Which Road ID will you be getting?
