Holy Virtual Race, Batman!

I received entry into the DC Batman Virtual 10k as part of being a BibRave Pro. (Ambassador) check out BibRave.com to find and write race reviews!

There are probably 20 blogs with that same title, but how can you run a Batman themed virtual race and not use that at least 100 times?

Next month I will be running the DC Batman Virtual Race. I worked it in on a day that I’m already running 7 miles, since I’m training for a few half marathons between October and February.

I have a few fun things up my sleeve for my running besties that will be running this with me……

Photo props, of course!

Breakfast with mimosas, while we watch one of my all time favorite Batman movies….

And, of course, the swag! They even included an extra item not pictured below, which I can’t wait to use!

Use DCBATMANPROMO at checkout for a free koozie!!

So much fun to be had!

Do you have a favorite Batman movie?

Medal Monday, Pelofondo Style

Yesterday was the final day of Pelofondo. This was my third time participating, but my first time spreading it out over two days. I honestly didn’t think I could pull it off, but I did it!

Last night was the Christmas in July Quest, and also my 500th ride! I obviously had to dress up a little bit I was very disappointed in myself that I didn’t have actual warm weather Christmas attire! All I had was a short sleeved tee and it was too thick! I actually earned my bling in the first minutes of the final ride, so I dropped down to a flat road to finish it out. I was 3.6 miles over when my friend Sarah said she needed one more ride. She stuck with me for that Quest, so I joined her. Once my mileage brought me to 85 miles, I stopped pedaling and start high fiving everyone! I was done!!

Obviously I had to take some medal photos. I preordered the official bling, so I had to personalize it myself!

My friend Jennifer, the founder of Miles Muscles and Motivation took this pic during my 500th ride!

I really enjoyed the weekend and I look forward to the next Pelofondo. My October is booked pretty solid, so I may not be able to ride as many miles as I want, but January I am definitely going for 100! I think I will need two cupcakes after that!

My 500th ride started with the theme song to Elf!

Did you earn any bling this weekend?

Pelofondo Day 1

Yesterday was the start of Pelofondo, a wonderfully crazy weekend where Peloton users everywhere set insane mileage goals and wear themselves out achieving them! This is my 3rd Pelofondo since getting my Peloton. I missed one because it was on a race weekend, I believe. They take place every three months.

My first weekend, I did 35 miles and thought I might die.

My second weekend, I did 50 miles and thought I might die.

My goal for this weekend is 80 miles, abs I’m pretty sure I’ll live, but my butt might die.

I joined the Miles, Muscles, and Motivation team, a Facebook group I belong to and adore. The moderators make Quests for us. Predetermined stacks of rides, runs, or strength with a central theme. They put together a few Quests just for Pelofondo.

The first Quest was Haleakala, which I climbed back in May. I made it through two rides and part of the 3rd before my knees started to really ache. I decided to bail and do a few easier rides instead, getting me to 40 miles for the morning.

After some Brunch with the hubs and some Hallmark movie watching, I went back upstairs at 6 and did the Happy Hour Quest. My goal was to have 60 total miles by the time I was done.

Nailed it! I celebrated with a Pina Colada and a hot bath!

The I prepped my outfit for tonight….

Tonight’s Quest has a Christmas in July theme. We are doing Holiday rides from past years. One of them will be my 500th ride! How crazy, that in just over a year, I’ve completed 500 rides!
I love this community, it has helped me to do hard things when my knees wouldn’t let me run!
Stay tuned tomorrow for Medal Monday and a recap of tonight’s rides!
Yes! There is a Pelofondo medal. I preordered it, and it’s waiting to be earned!

Medal Monday, Run White and Blue Edition

Yesterday, my girls and I ran the Run White and Blue 7.4K in Huntersville NC. It’s my first time doing that distance, so I guess I got a PR!

We all drove together, since it was a bit of a drive, which is always fun!

I also bumped into a few friends, including Amy, who wore her Mickey ears!

The race had a weird course. It was a “double loop” but you did a loop in one direction first. It was like a peanut shape and then a flattened circle shape! We got a little confused, but the volunteers were on point, so there was no chance of getting lost!

We didn’t do too bad, the weather was perfect, and the hills weren’t terrible!

The bling was pretty cool, and the after party was on point.

They had a few vendors, plus free reusable water bottles full of water, free beer, massages, and Blue Bunny was there with ice cream cups and popsicles. I may have had two grape popsicles….. yum!
We brunched after, but I totally forgot to get a medal pics with my food!

Did you do a race on Independence Day weekend?
