Wonder Woman Virtual Race

I received entry into the DC Wonder Woman Virtual race as part of being a BibRave Pro (ambassador). Check out BibRave.com to find and write race reviews.

With Fall races still so uncertain, I decided to add another virtual race to my calendar. Running in general right now is really hard for me. I lost a lot of fitness since November, since I wasn't running regularly after I tore my meniscus. I still have occasional pain and my body gets tired very easily. What better way to get motivated than another fun virtual race?

I have my current half marathon training plan already written into my planner.... yes, I write in a paper planner, I'm apparently a very visual person, I cannot do an online planner or app! My current planner of choice is the Happy Planner, from Hobby Lobby. It has a unicorn on it and it's sparkly. But I digress....
I checked my adorable, unicorn planner and the day I plan to run, which is October 24th, we are running 10 miles. Perfect day for running a 10k with.....

Wonder  Woman socks.  Yes, I bought the socks. They were $10, how could I not? If you form a team, and it has more than 15 people on it, you get the hat for free! Just email wwgroups@ramracing.org for information!

That picture above came up in my Facebook memories the other day, so obviously this is meant to be! So register, and let me know...

Did you buy the socks? Form a team? What distance will you run?

Lincoln Park Zoo Virtual Run For the Zoo

I received entry into the Lincoln Park Zoo Virtual Run for the Zoo as part of being a BibRave Pro (Ambassador). Check out BibRave.com to find and write raise reviews.

Yesterday, fellow BibRave Pro Lissa and I had our Virtual Run for the Zoo in my neighborhood. Real talk though, I actually did my run for the zoo Saturday morning with my running club. I am not allowed to run two days in a row, so I couldn’t do it with Lissa on Sunday.

I may have gotten a little carried away making this feel like a real race! It’s been so hard for the running community to not be able to gather and run together at races so this felt like a small way to make us feel like we were finally at a race!

Since I couldn't run with Lissa (or several blocks behind her....) the hubs and I got out the golf cart and stayed ahead of her as her ever moving water stop.

The pics below are not really in any certain order, just some post race fun with our favorite zoo animals, post race refreshments, and BibRave Pro fun!

Have you ever done a Virtual race?

My Comeback Race: Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon

I received entry into the 2021 Publix Savannah Women's Half Marathon as part of being a BibRave Pro (Ambassador). Check out BibRave.com to find and write race reviews.

I know, it seems silly to be getting worked up about a race that takes place so far from now, but in this crazy world that we are living in right now, I am trying to focus on making plans that I won't have to cancel or postpone!

With my knee issues, I haven't been able to plan for many races longer than a 5k or 10k, so adding this one on March 27, 2021 has me all kinds of excited. My plans at the end of 2019 were to hit half marathon #70 in 2020, but I won't be running even one this year! I have my new goals in place, and plan to make this race my next half marathon.

I have added the race to my planner, and this morning I added all of my training runs. Training starts in November, and I cannot wait! I have started looking at places I want to visit and events that the race hosts.

The morning after the race, they have yoga in the square. You know I am all about yoga, so I will definitely be attending this class!

I cannot wait to wander around Savannah. The architecture, the Spanish moss.....

Girl Scout headquarters, the first one ever, is definitely a must see!

I haven't picked our hotel yet either, but I will do that soon.

If you want to run it too, you can use the code BIBRAVE2021 for 10% off after June 11th.

Have you been to Savannah? What should I see? Do? Most importantly, where should I eat?
