Fiction Friday, Asheville Edition

Over the weekend, the hubs and I did a whirlwind trip to the Biltmore, and we stopped in Asheville on the way there. I knew that there were at least 4 bookstores in the area, but since I had just brought home 50+ books from Book Lover’s Con, I thought I should probably restrain myself.

My first stop was Malaprops. Such a fun store, with a section on local authors, as well as a wall of Blind Dates with a Book.

Of course, I had to get a blind date book, and I found some Grover socks as well…

Next up was the Battery Park Book Exchange and Champagne Bar. I wasn’t so interested in the Bar, but the books…. So many nooks and crannies. I was in heaven. I ended up with a fancy copy of Northanger Abbey.

Afterwards, we stopped for lunch and then headed to the Biltmore. The next day, after we toured the estate, we stopped in at their bookstore, Bookbinder’s. I was hoping for some historical fiction and I wasn’t disappointed…

After we toured the gardens, it was time to go home. We detoured through Black Mountain for lunch… and one more bookstore… Sassafras on Sutton.

This was such a whimsical store, I had a lot of fun wandering the shelves. The book I chose was on their wall of suggestions.

Overall, a great weekend of bookish fun! I definitely didn’t need any more books, but I gotta show the love to Indie bookstores!
