Travel Thursday, Savannah Edition

At the beginning of May, the hubs and I went in our annual Anniversary vacation. This year we lost a day in Hilton Head due to an “error” the condo owner made with a double booking. She waited months after we booked to tell us, which was so frustrating, so we added a couple of days in Savannah to make up for it. I love Savannah, and this is the first time the hubs and I went together since Covid restrictions were lifted.

I adore the architecture here, and I used what I learned in December about Trolley Tours to maximize our sightseeing. Our hotel was near one of the stops, which was super convenient.
One of the stops was the Prohibition Museum, so we got some coupons from our driver and headed over. It was a lot of fun and very informative, and you could see a lot of parallels to life today.

This is my favorite church in Savannah, it’s so beautiful.

Of course we had to get beignets. These were amazing and the sauce was pecan praline, and it definitely made the dessert so much better.

This was dinner before the beignets above. A little bit of NOLA never hurts.

I definitely recommend the Old Towne Trolley tour. It stops all over Savannah and it’s a great way to get around. You can hop on and off as often as you want, and the driver gives you all kinds of info along the way. I plan to look for tours like this everywhere we go! We parked our car and never used it again until it was time to go. Perfection.
