Gearing Up For Half Marathon Season #SkirtSports Style!

As an Ambassador Captain for Skirt Sports, I do get some free swag every now and then, all thoughts and opinions are, as always, my own!
It's no secret that I am on hiatus from running, but I do have some Fall Half Marathons planned, and I am hoping to be able to do a run/walk/run for them. They may not be pretty runs, but I will look awesome while I run them! Until I can run, I am doing 21 Day Fix and PiYo to keep in shape, and occasionally riding my bike. I love the versatility of my Skirt Sports skirts, shirts, and tanks! I wear them to workout, I wear them to do chores and errands, and I even wore one to my daughter's semi formal Graduation Party!

Arc Planner, My Newest Obsession and a #swap Idea

I love planning.
I'm obsessed, really.
My 2014 planner was an Erin Condren, and I loved it, but the price tag was just too high.
I started doing research and discovered that Staples sells their own planner, the ARC planner. It comes in two sizes, you can get different covers for it, and you can expand it with larger discs.

When I bought it, the store only had the 2014-2015 calendar pages so I ordered blank refills through Amazon and now I have three years worth. See? Obsessed.

I also have notebook pages in the back, bookmark pages, and stickers galore.

My newest discovery is Planner Buddies. There is a Facebook group! Holy heck!
I am having so much fun learning about printing your own stickers, layout iseas, and more.
My big idea of the week is to host a Buddy Swap! Who wants to join in?
If you would like to be included, please email me at kprytherch@gmail.com to let me know. I am thinking that we will.set a $20 limit, and maybe try doing it every other month. What do you all think? Who is in?!

Training Update

I have been trying to find new ways of keeping myself busy now that I have taken a break from running. I won't be working runs back into my training until late September. I am feeling some improvement in my feet, so I am sure now what I made the right decision to take a break.
My workouts have mostly consisted of PiYo workouts, with walks and bike rides thrown in to mix it up.
On Monday, I begin the 21 Day Fix, and will be following the Eating Plan. If you would like to join me, depending me a note and I will add you to my private Facebook group.

@BuluBox Review #sweatpink #ad

I LOVE trying new things, and that is what Bulu Box is all about!
I received my Bulu Box for free as a Sweat Pink Ambassador,  but, as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
**Bulu Box is the first health, nutrition, and weight loss discovery box designed to help you feel your best.**
There is nothing quite like getting that orange box in the mail! I was very excited to see what would be inside! Let's start at the top and work our way down!!
Martha Stewart Essentials. Who knew Martha made vitamins?! The teenie is off to college and this box arrived right before she left. She needed a new bottle of multi vitamins so she took these. They are gummy vitamins, vegetarian, and contain phytonutrients from a fruit and veggie concentrate blend to promote whole body health. Most importantly, the teenie likes them and she is taking them daily. Score!
BPI Sports FunnBar: sugar free, gluten free, protein chews. 15g protein and 15 calories and great for just after a long bike ride. Caramel Chocolate is a win win.
Nuvia CafĂ©:  A great energy boost for the morning that I passed on to the hubs, since I don't drink coffee. He said it was interesting, and he finished it, so it must have been good! A perfect drink for when you are on the go!
Ovega-3: all the benefits of fish oil with no after taste. Need I say more? This one was a bonus for me, because I have been considering fish oil but was afraid of the taste factor.
Urgent RX Upset Stomach: I haven't tried this because I haven't had an upset stomach. Fruit flavored powder packs, fast relief, no water needed. Boom! Going in the race bag for sure!
Movit Energy Gummies: power boosters such as Guarana, CoQ10, Folic Acid. Less sugar, fewer calories, and super tasty. Great for during my bike rides and future runs!
Naked Wine Vouchers: I don't drink wine, so this did nothing for me. However, if you do drink wine, and you want $100 off a $160 purchase, email me. The first email I get can have it! kprytherch@gmail.com

I really enjoyed this Bulu Box! I could use everything in it, with the exception of the wine voucher, and that is a win for me!  I love the fact that I can try things out without spending $15-$20 on something I may never use again! I also like finding new companies, and these were all new to me! As a runner, you have to keep mixing things up or you get bored. At least, I do!
Want 50% off your first 3 boxes? Use the code SWEATPINK at checkout for 50% off a 3 month subscription! That's a great savings! Plus, 3 months of fun new products to try? You have to love that!
So, what are you waiting for? Get your subscription to Bulu Box today! You can also follow them on Instagram and Twitter to see what's new and exciting!

Move In Day

Yesterday my daughter moved in to her college dorm on the third floor. The floor is very important. There was no elevator so we all got a great workout. She is my first to go off to college, and so far I'm keeping it together. So far.

Flat Mama Friday

This weekend is a crazy one. Tomorrow morning we move my daughter into college. I'm pretty much devastated.
Monday night I was supposed to do a Train Run. You take the train to one of three stops, and then run back. And then you drink beer and eat pizza. Since I can't run I will be volunteering.

Freekeh Foods Review #sweatpink #giveaway

As a Sweat Pink Ambassador, I am often given the opportunity to try out new products. As always, all opinions are my own!
I was really excited to try out Freekeh Foods. It seemed similar to quinoa, and my family loves that, so I was curious to see how they would feel about Freekeh. We tried the Rosemary Sage first. It cooked up way faster than the instructions said, which was fine by me. I like quick dinners! I paired it with some grilled chicken and peas, and put it in front of my men.

I gotta admit, I was nervous. The boy is not a brave eater, and I thought for sure that he would push it aside. He.ate.it.all. He also asked if there was more! Score!

I was so happy! I haven't tried the plain Freekeh yet, but I saw a recipe for breakfast that I am dying to try.   I will Instagram about it when I have tried it. So, what is freekeh?
From their website:

So glad you asked! Freekeh is a process which means "to rub" in Arabic. Freekeh was created by accident nearly 2,000 years ago when a Middle Eastern village was attacked and their crop of young green wheat was set ablaze. Most folks would sulk over their misfortune, but the crafty villagers rubbed off the chaff, cooked it up and "Eureka!" Freekeh was created. We're proud to offer you this tasty, nutritious ancient grain with a funny name.

That's code for really freakin yummy! They have all kinds for recipes at their website, and they sell it online and at all kinds of grocery stores. I see several on the list that are nearby!
The awesome people at Freekeh are offering my readers a free bag of Freekeh and a cookbook! I also have some coupons that I will be giving away as well. They sent me a bunch for my own use, so after I pull out a couple for myself, I will raffle off the rest. US Residents only, please. Giveaway winner will be announced on August 30.

Block Island Sunscreen Review #ad #BlockIslandOrganics

If you spend any time outdoors, you need a good sunblock. With the threat of skin cancer, it's an insurance policy you can't afford to skip. I have tried a lot of different brands of sunscreen, and I have loved some and hated some.
When I was contacted by Block Island, I was more than happy to give their Sun Care a try!

Block Island Sun Care is
*natural mineral sun care for the face and body
*broad spectrum spf 30
*NO parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals, phthalates
*NO dyes or artificial fragrances
*non-nano & vegan formula

We used it in Disney as well as on runs and bicycle rides. I have to say, I love it. It goes on smooth and doesn't leave a greasy film behind. I have an issue with dyes and chemicals and fragrances in laundry detergent so this formula works very well for me! No hives for this girl!
I definitely recommend this for anyone who spends a lot of time outside! Skin protection is so important, you only get one body and you need to protect it!
The ladies at Block Island were kind enough to offer my readers a discount code as well!
Use the code kimp any time from today, August 18th until Tuesday, August 25 and receive 15% off! This code will not combine with any other code, but it will work with anything that may be on sale.

You can stalk Block Island on Facebook and Twitter

Poker Run Bicycle Challenge

So, this week I made the tough decision to defer the NYC Marathon. I'm not gonna lie , I was devastated. My foot just won't heal. Every time the pain goes away when walking, I try a run, and end up limping for days.
I  am taking 6 weeks off with no running, and there won't be enough time to train after that, so no marathons for me.
Today, I did some other exercise, starting with PiYo Strength Intervals.

Mike is my favorite.
Ok, that ached. Off to the shower before we went to the Poker Run at our Home Owner's Association.
 POKER RUN!
What fun we had! We probably biked about 4 miles total. At each house, you pick a random card, 7 total, and hope for 5 good ones.

Afterwards, they announced that some of the proceeds went to MS and Parkinsons, and then announced the winners. My pair of 3s was lowwwww on the list. The hubs had a straight and came in sixth. No prizes for us.
But
They had BBQ and live music so it was still a win.
Plus, this was our view:

Definitely a great way to spend a Saturday!
