Surviving Spring Half Marathons with Handful Bra

I received a Handful Closer Bra as part of being a BibRave Pro (ambassador). Check out BibRave.com to read and write race reviews!

Spring starts a little sooner in the South, but runners everywhere know the dangers of running half and full marathons in the Spring. Sure, the weather can be beautiful. Crisp and clean, not too hot and not too cold. It can also rain. There is a pretty good chance it will rain. Rain often means chafing.
You know how that goes. You run the race, earn the bling, eat all.the.food. and then you come home and take a shower or a bath. (I am a bath girl, no secret there!) Inevitably, all of that amazingness goes away the second that water hits the sore spot that you didn't know your sports bra gave you. You shriek, the husband.dog.kids. come running, sure that you are dying. And you are. Oh my heck, the pain!

Since I switched to the Closer Bra for all of my long runs and half marathons this month, I have not had any of that pain, and there has been plenty of rain and humidity, I can promise you that.
Ahhhhhh humidity. Welcome to the South, y'all!
What's worse, or maybe almost as bad, as the first seconds in the Shower of Death after a long run? Getting that bra off in the first place! It's soaking wet. You're soaking wet. If, like me, you change in the car afterwards (I'm looking at you, Orange Mud Towel!) getting that bra over your head requires contortionist skills and often ends with sore shoulder muscles.
Y'all. Look at that bra. IT ZIPS!!! One quick motion and that bra is history. I almost wept the first time I took that little beauty off.

It's also super supportive (not as important for me, but still, you gotta keep the girls secure!), and the Lights Out pads are removable if you aren't into extra padding. I totally am, but I know that not everyone is as... um.... flat as me. For real y'all, I need all the help I can get! They are also labeled Left and Right and have an arrow pointing up, so when you put them back in, there is no confusion. At all.
These bras are so soft! I just love them. The lining is also moisture wicking, and the shell is quick dry for extra comfort! The straps are adjustable and the bra is true to shirt size, from XS to XL. They fit so well!

In addition to my long runs, I tested the Closer Bra out at Tobacco Road. It didn't rain that day, but it sure wanted to, and the humidity was insane. I was chilly but also a sweaty mess when I was done. I changed in the back seat of my car, as usual, and I almost did a jig when I could zip the bra right off. That is always the most difficult part, magic towel or not.

I am getting ready to Run the Bluegrass this weekend, and rain is in the forecast. I'm not worried, though, (other than being struck by lightening!) because I have my Closer Bra packed and ready to go.  Want one of your own? They come in Keepin it Teal, Booya Black, and Spoon Me, which is the one I have. Use the discount code BIBRAVE for 10% off!

Just a mini shout out for my favorite post-race bra (I also wear it to yoga) the Adjustable Bra which I also have in Spoon Me. It comes in 13 colors!

So which color will you be getting in the Closer Bra? I am looking at that Keepin it Teal for my next one!
