Yesterday, I posted a ton of pics from the Second Annual Reading Rainbow Road Trip. This is an annual trip my daughter and I plan, so that we can hang out, read, sightsee, read, geocache, read…. You get the point. Last year, we went to Charlottesville VA and this year we went to Savannah and Charleston.
These pics are in no certain order, except that they all happened on day one in Savannah…
E Shaver is one of my all time fave bookstores and we visit every time we go to Savannah. George, our trip mascot, really loved visiting there. He made some new friends, which you will see soon!
This cemetery is insanely old, like much of Savannah. We tried to do a geocache adventure lab, but could not figure out stop two. We felt very silly, but the obvious answer was wrong, as were all of the less obvious ones we tried. We actually left here to find E Shaver.
This was my first trip to the Book Lady. Every time I’ve tried to visit, they were closed for some reason. It was an interesting used bookstore, with a book pup, and we both found some books in the YA section.

For each trip, I find Bookish gifts to bring, and I double them up so that we both have them. Morgan’s book letter was a green M. Green for Slytherin and blue for Ravenclaw. Etsy is my bestie.
Lunch was at the Pie Shoppe, which was a tiny little pub in the marketplace near the trolley station. This pie was beef and potato and it was delightful. Morgan and I shared it and didn’t finish, it was so big and so full!
this is the park near our hotel. So shady and beautiful. There are 22 squares left like this in Savannah, out of the original 24, and one of them is going to be restored. The 24th is a parking garage, so there’s nothing to be done there.

I highly recommend the trolley for transport around Savannah. We tend to park the car on arrival and not touch it until we leave. The trolley gives you fun historical facts, plus it takes you all around Savannah. We prefer Old Towne Trolley, for hop on hop off fun! We also used them for the haunted trolley tour, which we did on day two.
