Freekeh Foods Review #sweatpink #giveaway

As a Sweat Pink Ambassador, I am often given the opportunity to try out new products. As always, all opinions are my own!
I was really excited to try out Freekeh Foods. It seemed similar to quinoa, and my family loves that, so I was curious to see how they would feel about Freekeh. We tried the Rosemary Sage first. It cooked up way faster than the instructions said, which was fine by me. I like quick dinners! I paired it with some grilled chicken and peas, and put it in front of my men.

I gotta admit, I was nervous. The boy is not a brave eater, and I thought for sure that he would push it aside. He.ate.it.all. He also asked if there was more! Score!

I was so happy! I haven't tried the plain Freekeh yet, but I saw a recipe for breakfast that I am dying to try.   I will Instagram about it when I have tried it. So, what is freekeh?
From their website:

So glad you asked! Freekeh is a process which means "to rub" in Arabic. Freekeh was created by accident nearly 2,000 years ago when a Middle Eastern village was attacked and their crop of young green wheat was set ablaze. Most folks would sulk over their misfortune, but the crafty villagers rubbed off the chaff, cooked it up and "Eureka!" Freekeh was created. We're proud to offer you this tasty, nutritious ancient grain with a funny name.

That's code for really freakin yummy! They have all kinds for recipes at their website, and they sell it online and at all kinds of grocery stores. I see several on the list that are nearby!
The awesome people at Freekeh are offering my readers a free bag of Freekeh and a cookbook! I also have some coupons that I will be giving away as well. They sent me a bunch for my own use, so after I pull out a couple for myself, I will raffle off the rest. US Residents only, please. Giveaway winner will be announced on August 30.
