Scooby Doo Run Virtual Race

Nugget and I received entry into the Scooby Doo Run Virtual Race as part of me being a BibRave Pro (ambassador). Check out BibRave.com to find and write race reviews.

Isn't she adorable?
This Fall, Nugget and I will be participating the Scooby Doo Run 10k, a fun, virtual event for pets and their owners (and Scooby Doo fans!). We had so much fun participating last year, and Memphis the annoying Corgi came with us. Their bling still hangs above their bowls. Bling is forever, baby!

This year, we will be doing the 10K once again. With the two of them being older pups, we will do two miles  a day for three days, with the final stretch of the 10K being done on the last day. The two of them are so excited and I have assured them that the bling will hang above their bowls with the rest of their medals!

Look at the swag! Obviously I will wear the hoodie, but I am willing to share the water bottle!

You can add the bandana, collar, or both when you register. How cute are they?!? Nugget needs a new collar. Hmmmm…..

We will start our vigorous training soon, a mile at a time for now, so that when we are ready to do our 10K, they have had plenty of practice. You can do yours any time until October 4. Once you are done, you can log your results and get a Finisher Certificate to print out and they will overlays for your photos to make a fun keepsake!

Race packets begin shipping on August 3rd, (or 10-14 days after you register, if you register afterwards) and I cannot wait to see it in person!

Register now, and join me!

Knee Injury Recovery with Extreme Fit Compression Socks

I received Extreme Fit Compression socks as part of being a BibRave Pro (ambassador). Check out BibRave.com to find and write race reviews.

I know, it seems like I'm reaching here, but hear me out.
I started running with my club again in June, after very limited miles between November and March, and zero miles between March and May. In other words, I was suffering. When my PT finally cleared me to run, I was ecstatic. I could run again! Sort of. I was running  a half mile, and then a mile, and so on. When my club started meeting again (socially distant and in very small groups) I was nervous about that jump to 3 miles. Charlotte is very hilly, and the first quarter mile is always a little achey. No matter what I do, I always end up overcompensating and my shins are paying the price. I've started doing something I never do. Wearing compression socks on shorter runs. I usually wear them once we hit about 8 miles, but lately I've needed them every run. And that is ok, especially when I have received such cute socks from Extreme Fit!

There are so many cute styles! The ones above are unicorn themed and came in a three pack, and today they are 33% off!

These are reflective! I will be wearing them tomorrow, since we start in the dark, and these are also currently 33% off, and there are 3 different styles that are reflective.

Can you tell that my Independence Day socks are mismatched? They have a mismatched collection!! I about died when I saw them. One has stars and one has stripes. Check them out, they have so many cute ones, especially the beer and pineapple sets. These are two different sets, y'all, in case you thought I was nuts and think that beer and pineapples go together!

The company was so generous, we got to have a giveaway. I did mine on Instagram, and the winners were so happy!

So let's get down to the details. You know I gotta point out some great facts, I always do!

This company was started by two dudes who wanted cute compression socks for their mom. How cute is that? This was only 4 years ago, and they are making good on that promise. Surf the site, these socks are insanely fabulous.

They fit really well. I have trouble with some brands because I have big calves, but these are amazing. They are comfy and they really help my tight calves (and, therefore, my painful shins).

They are anti microbial which helps to eliminate stinky feet and fungul infections.

Breathable fabric keeps  you cooler and more comfy.

While I was getting links from their page, I totally ordered their Holiday 6 pack, plus a pair of socks for my son. The discount code is legit, y'all. Wanrt the discount code as well? For 20% off of a $50 purchase, use BRP20 at checkout.

Which socks are you buying?

Happy Independence Day

Have a safe and happy weekend, y’all! My neighborhood had a parade, but too many of my pics had kids in them, and I never post those! I hope this gives you an idea! We had 25+ golf carts, 4 cars, and a fire truck. So much fun!

Flat Mama Friday

Ok, so it’s a Virtual Race, but I’m tired of not having anything to post about, and I haven’t figured out what I want to write about my beloved Peloton yet, so I’m running with this.
Pun intended.
I had two races planned for this weekend. An actual live 5k and a virtual 4 Miler. I was so excited about the live race, and then the governor of NC rescinded the stage 3 opening and the race got cancelled. I get it. I do. But it sucks. I ran that race virtually yesterday and my swag came the same day!

Saturday would have been the American Four Miler in Charlotte. That race had a live option and a virtual option, and since I didn’t want to be in the city, shoulder to shoulder,  with that many people, I signed up for the virtual option. I will be running this on Sunday in my cute new mismatched socks from Extreme Fit. The pic is at the top of the post. Aren’t they fabulous?

Are you doing and fun virtual races right now?
