Candle making night

Someone I used to know hated candles. He didn’t want me to burn them because he was convinced they left soot on the walls. I was pretty sure the soot came  from the smokey fireplace, but he said no.

Whatever.

Now that I’m on my own I can burn all the candles I want. Shockingly, there’s no soot on the walls. 🤷🏻‍♀️

One of my solo adventures was to try something new in my area, and a friend of mine told me I just HAD to make a candle. Who am I to argue?

I decided to go with my current favorite thing….. library scented candles. You know, the old creaky home library with the old books and the leather chairs.

I got to pick 3 scents, so I went with leather, vanilla, and tobacco. I chose the order I wanted them in, good better and best, and measured them out. So much fun!

Then i chose my vessel. There weren’t too many choices so I went with basic white.

I got my wicks lined up…. Mostly…..

The scent is ready to go!

The instructor dealt with the wax, which was fine with me! Everyone was much safer that way!

Then it was time to stir the scent in. This took forever. Or maybe it was 3 minutes. Same difference!

I may have also gotten a car freshener with the same scent. And ice cream. There was a Jeni’s in the same shopping center. It’s like a law that you have to stop if you’re nearby. I don’t make the rules!

Have you ever made a candle?
